Dr. Kirsch continually keeps abreast of outcomes of UAE in his own patients, and the outcomes for UAE on a national and international basis. He periodically arranges to interview or question his patients regarding their progress and experience since UAE. This is a routine part of continuing to provide care for his patients. In addition, it permits him to gather data about the outcomes of patients who have had UAE for evaluation and publication in the scientific literature.

As the opportunity arises, Dr. Kirsch also participates in specific clinical studies. Some of these are studies that he has conducted himself. Others are studies that he has been requested to participate in along with physicians at other institutions.
